Microfluidics is celebrating its 40th year and this blog explores & celebrates..
The M110EH is ideal for pilot scale batch processing. Think of it as a miniature version of the M700 production series.
With Microfluidics' fixed-geometry Interaction Chamber™ technology, the M110EH produces fully comparable results to those achieved in the lab. The results achieved at this pilot scale are guaranteed to full M700 series scale up production volumes.
The M110EH contains an on-board 3.7 kW (5 HP) electric-hydraulic drive that powers a single acting intensifier pump, all mounted on casters for mobility. It is ideally positioned for pilot scale work being able to handle sample sizes as small as 120 mL up to batches of 100 Liters.
Pressure to 30,000 psi is possible from the single-acting intensifier pump which amplifies the hydraulic pressure to the appropriate level. The desired pressure is selected by a simple turn of a knob and supplied at a constant rate to the product stream. By maximizing energy-per-unit fluid volume, this machine produces uniform sub-micron particle and droplet sizes.
When the product exits the Interaction Chamber™, it flows through the on-board heat exchanger which regulates the product to a desired temperature ensuring a consistent discharge temperature. At this point, the product is recirculated through the system for further processing or directed externally to the next step in the process.
Designed to achieve cGMP standards, there are a range of models to suit the standard Biopharma needs, moving on to the Enhanced Biopharma model and on to the Aseptic Biopharmaceutical model. These options are critical when scaling up from the lab to pilot batches in applications such as: vaccine adjuvants, nanoemulsions and cell disruption.
Because the M110P offers flexibility in quantity size and delivers repeatable, scalable results, it is ideally used to create:
Microfluidics’ laboratory application experts work diligently with customers to understand their application needs and advise on which processing conditions will yield the best results for their specific applications.
For drug and vaccine delivery, achieving narrow particle size and size distribution is critically important for filtration.
